24-hour Read-a-thon: Hour 12

Here’s the mini-challenge for the hour: answering a survey!

1. What are you reading right now?
Ghostwritten by David Mitchell.

2. How many books have you read so far?
Two: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and Mat Som by Lat.

3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
Neil Gaiman’s Fables and Reflections, the sixth volume in the Sandman series. I skipped it when I first read Sandman because we couldn’t find a copy.

4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day?
Not really.

5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
Dinner and breakfast, I guess. And me falling asleep sometime after 4 am this morning. I guess I didn’t really “deal” with those — I just went for dinner and slept and had breakfast!

6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
Time passes really fast!

7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
My real problem is with the timezone, so I don’t really think there’s much to be done about that. I wish it could start earlier for me, but I know it won’t be very practical for most people in North America.

8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year?
I think I’d pile up more children/YA books — didn’t have the chance to this time because I signed up very late. I get through those faster . . . they’re easier to parse than Bradbury, I suppose.

9. Are you getting tired yet?
I’m not tired now, but that’s because I already slept for two hours. ^^;

10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered?
Take a break when you need to and don’t force yourself! Also, tea sometimes helps. ;)

I’m glad things are going well, except for the falling asleep part :)

Good luck for the rest of the Read-a-Thon and don’t end up like this… http://www.ahajokes.com/crt579.html
