24-hour Read-a-thon: Hour 19

Three Bags Full: Sheep detectives! Their shepherd has been murdered and the sheep want to find out who did it.

Who’s seen Shaun the Sheep? It’s a very cute and funny stop-motion animated series about a very smart sheep called Shaun and his herd and his shepherd and the sheep dog. I keep imagining the sheep in the book would look like the sheep in the show. XD

Going down for a late lunch of leftover pasta.

The Little Prince: Care was pointing out in the last post that there’s a lot of critical analysis on this one (the book’s introduction itself had some of that) but I’m just not inclined to check it out, I guess.

Alas. The whole big allegory escapes me this time.

Uh. The illustrations were cute!

Three Bags Full: Just starting this one. There are funny pictures of sheep at the bottom of the pages!

Hey ho. Still plodding along. Nothing much else to do. Besides, who’d be able to sleep in this heat anyway? Weather report says it’s 32 °C with a humidity of 66%.

24-hour Read-a-thon: Hour 17

The Little Prince: It’s still strange. Is it an . . . an allegory to something?

Finished the story, actually, but there’s a section “Letter to a Hostage” at the end I haven’t read, and I skipped all the introductory pages at the beginning.

I fell asleep for a bit. At first I thought I missed an hour, but apparently I was only asleep for a few minutes?

Whimsical and strange. Am I missing something?

Race of Scorpions: Sometimes some of the lines seem so ludicrous I have to pause and think and then after a bit I start giggling. I quote you one:

“The lady Marietta of Patras had several noses: some of wax and some, of various shapes, in painted wood.”

This charming lady is also known as Cropnose.

It’s hot, and I think I drifted off. I lost 15 minutes and my place on the page.
